Just wanted to say I am absolutely heartbroken you didn't get into the final 6 :( you definitely had my vote!! It's pretty shit that most of the 6 joined the comp after the initial competition period.....really made it unfair for people like you, squina and roxanneg who spent sooooooo much time blogging and social networking. The last 4 months now seem like a complete waste of our time......I actually think I'm going to write a letter of complaint to getmusic and Universal for their complete lack of organisation and communication about.....well......everything in this competition!!

Sooooooo yeah.......just wanted to let ya know that you were my fav and I really hope you keep it up. You will go onto bigger and better things and I can just see the finalists getting completely screwed by this comp.....it was probably in your best interest not to get into the final 6 because, judging how the entire comp was run, I can only see it getting worse.

O ya x I’m just dropping a line, in search of some likeminded others who would be keen, committed, collaborate and produce some major events among the music and entertainment industry in OZ… (One of my events gained a position in the Smirnoff’s Promoters Grant short-list. Refer to my profile page for exp, history, skills etc www.myworldtour.com.au/4sound) I’ve been involved in ‘various music scenes’ for years, resulting to collections of relevant info, knowledge, market research and identification of new market spaces and there is room for growth in the industry! We are in an important time in our music industry, considering the rapid technology changes, music and genre exposure through airplay, festival line-ups etc, social networking, communication, revenue outlets, support etc! Within these accesses and settings, new enhancements can be formed…. Too cut a long story short, I’m looking for a selected few serious, people to join me in a group and conduct some major plans via events and the entertainment industry. The team is basically like a dedicated band, everyone has similar goals and objectives to achieve the same results and work equally as hard to get there quickly. I had a fantastic time in sydney. we ended up just hanging in hyde park on monday because saturday and sunday were so large!! Days Like This was awesome, but my friend got strip searched, which was intense. I've never seen so many police at a Melbourne fest. It's all for the better though. Thanks for the ideas though xx

Hey, thanks for having a look at my blogs, they actually took me ages to do :P The Falls Festival was amazing once again. Every year that festival just grows and grows. I really recommend you checking it out one year if you get the chance, the location is to die for. Anyways, realistically I know I am not going to win this competition but I suppose it has been a bit of fun putting these blogs together anyways. Karen O is a wild and wondrous creature who only comes out at night when lured by sparkly objects and bright shades of lipstick... aka I met her backstage at Falls whilst I was working on a project with some RMIT kats.

Yeah's yeah yeahs i reckon was my fave gig of the week, jamie t at a close second. On the whole, maaaad time man, don't suggest anyone do a week like that with full-time work (saturday was painfull lol) haha but gotta do it while its still physically possible, young red blooded and all that :P. Diplo went pretty nuts hey, that'll be up during the week. Sucks we didn't catch you out there though! Oh well

oh, no you need to watch it for real...get the dvd box set (or rent it) and watch it properly. yeah they have a whole new cast now...every 2 years they get a new cast. the new cast is centered around Effy (Tony's little sister) and follows her through her last 2 years of school, just like it did with the last cast. I havent actually watched season 3 yet...i'm scared I won't like it with the new cast hey. xx

Part of the joy of working with new and interesting people is that it tends to open doors both ways!

But in reality I really have to thank the competition as without it I'd still be tinkering away at home in the studio making beats, funky guitar music or something.... maybe even a little bit of classical/jazz piano haha :)

Oh flipping awesome! Are you going? You know Al Green has NEVER played in Australia before... I'm from Newcastle (but in Sydney a fair bit) and I think we're getting a whole big crew to head down and stay in the city. That's a bit special because we always drive back after gigs and man that drive up the freeway is so hard and very tiring... I'm going to dress up real fun and colourful. I really enjoyed it also! I was interested in the publishing aspect of it but I was quite surprised at how much affection I had for Grace (and to a lesser extent, Anne) by the end! It was a really great character drama, and a really good insight into the high-end magazine market. I know nothing about fashion, but I do know what a dynamo Anne is and it really exemplified her no-nonsense, nothing-less-than-best approach.

Can sometimes be bad things to carry around your neck like a house key, but I figure I have been walking around with two for you for a little while now. One from a long time ago, and one from not so long ago. The first: YES YES YES I do really enjoy Leonard Cohen and his musical awesomeness. Not like fan who owns every bit of recorded material but Big fan and always will be, are you? The second: YES YES YES could watch it forever. Into The Wild really for me captures what a good album can also do for your mind. It allows you to forget everything and leave everything behind just to enjoy the moment. The only big big difference I see is that my emotional journey through music does not put me through the pain and eventual demise that the elements of the wild can, and did, to our boy Alexander Supertramp. Where to start with ruddy!!! oh thats a good start........after being struck with a few complaints from listeners, (because we didnt respect the prime minister), for calling him ruddy/kevy and so on hahaha we had our second interview and cleared that up haha as he loves it.......he definitely isnt into the whole formal side of things!!!! Gotta love the man.......he definitely knows how to work the media but i just love the man for the fact that he is more keen on interesting interviews rather then ure usual boring 'facts' kind of interview haha he was more interested in knowing who broke my co-hosts heart then in what he was actually going to be discussing in our region when visiting!!! hhmmm only wish i could upload the interviews!! He lets us get away with cheeky stabs too when it comes to pressing political issues....like the boat people....my comment left him a reply of .......'right' hahaa was a bit scared of that destroying us but he likes to move on to more random things quickly ha

Like love, you shout out the lyrics for the world to hear. You look around to your friends who are smiling back at you with a grin that simply says “I know”. And so like good kisses, I have experienced many good bands, but which one was the most memorable? Which one will I compare against all others from now on? I ask myself was this particular gig good because I wasn’t expecting it? Or perhaps it was the people I was there with? Maybe it was just because it was familiar and I trusted it and in doing so they took me to new levels. The band was Regurgitator 2008 MMF. It was raining like I can never remember it raining before. It was like the earth had saved up 2 years worth of water supply and dumped it on us at that very moment. The fluorescent lights were dancing with the water, you could see the crowd breathing. There was no stopping The Gurg. It was like the band had been taken over by a force bigger than them. With mud splattering around me, my friend grabbed me and hoisted my up on his shoulders. I looked up at the dark sky, let the rain hit me hard in the face, closed my eyes and let the music take my in and take me over. I was a meter from the front. I honestly swear to you it was like I was doing a duet with Quan Yeoman’s himself. Which brings me to my question? What was your favourite gig? Where, when and why? I am interested to hear what rocked your world....

Heya, Award School is a great course, especially if you want to work in the creative side of advertising. In saying that, there were also a lot of graphic designers who did the course and a couple of lawyers too, who were looking for a career change! haha It's really full on and if you want to do well in it you need to dedicate a lot of hours into it! You also have to be prepared to have your ideas torn up in front of you! If you're studying now and you put as much effort into Award School as you have this competition, I'm sure you'd do well! haha

two long summer months! bring on the insanity!

Yeah, it was amazing! About 8 stages, and a load of bands always lead to some clashes, but was a great three days of music. I'm planning to go next year anyway :) Taking another semester/year off uni! Ha!

So sneaky!! I guess with encore it works both ways... I went to a Broken Social Scene concert at Manning a few years ago and it went from a normal 50 min set with encore to them coming back out for nearly 3 hours... it was SO special (and Feist was there which was extra amazing!!)

Its funny how some of your favourite songs actually dont have great lyrics, but its the melodies and harmonies which make it so great. I did a fair bit of reading through my 'most liked' songs, and alot of their lyrics arent really all that captivating. On the other hand, some of them are amazing! I especially like Pearl Jam's lyrics, because of the way they tell you a story just by reading the words. Its like you could almost read the lyrics for the album all the way through without hearing the music, and it would be the same as reading a book!

Hey! I've nearrrlyy done all of Asia that I want to do now I guess... On that particular trip we went through China (all the way up to Harbin near the Russian border where I was literally stopped in the St because of my blonde hair and people would take photos. bizzare) and then Beijing, Shanghai, caught a 24 train to Hong Kong (NOT RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE) and then Thailand, Malaysia and home... And before that I'd visited Vietnam, Japan and Korea.. I pretty much am craving the more expensive parts of the world now! lol. My mum's a kiwi so I've been there a few times and travelled with parentals to Vanuatu and places around Aust. wow I totally just blurbed!!!! I'm so impressed with your blogs!!!! They just keep coming! Awesome.

Nothing like a good profile journey around! m83 are indeed amazing, it was really good to see them! Vfest is such a good one, with loads of people, but a massive amount of space so it's not sickeningly cramped like many other festivals. Bonus!

yeah, i pretty much am in the same position regarding JT. i'm too cheap to buy his cds, let alone his concert tickets. i think i may have taped one of his old cds back in the day. yeah, i have Justified on cassette. hahaha.
oh, and nice video blog about st jeromes. i was considering going, but last years fest in melbourne was such a catastrophe that i'm not sure i want to take the risk.

I will add it to the list! I have read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas from Hunter but not Hells Angels. Again, I'll add it to the list! I see from one of the blog about your fav things you have Trainspotting in the book section. Would def be up there in my top few books. Love Irvine Welsh and his style. Agreed 'Killing in the name' is not the 2nd best song ever made but then again I wouldn't say 'Teen Spirit' is the best either. The countdown was massively reflective of the JJJ audience. I work for my parents club in Sydney (Home)... just got back from Europe and starting a band room here on Friday nights plus booking other bands (like festival sideshows etc) on random nights... it's damn fun! Where do you work??

Heading to the States to check out a bunch of bands and live music venues (part of my job)... can't wait... the list of amazing bands playing is so exciting!!

Hey!! I cut them together in the blog under that-- editing videos is fun but jeez i dunno about my patience while doing it!!! And the program i had wouldnt let me cut a video more than twice- do you have any recommendations for better software???

I've got to see it live...only way to really know with this one. But the record, I liked it man the sound is expanded, the solos are pretty sweet and for the most part it delivers on what it promises, balls out rock n roll. I'd take this over short stack any day lol

How funny, I lived really close to there during my last month in NYC. I was on 7th and Ave C. Before that I lived on 31st and Lexington, but the lower east side/east village was way more fun! I loved being so close to St Marks, apart from the smell. haha I was doing a couple of internships in the advertising industry, plus working as a freelance copywriter. How about you? I miss the live music so much!

That's awesome! haha Going to McCarren Park Pool was probably some of the best fun I had in NYC! I was living in NYC from March - Aug of last year. How about you? Did you go to any of the block parties in Williamsburg?

Yeah you absolutely should, it's crazy awesome, it's so different in so many sections and everything is made up into districts and it's such an amazing place. How were the other stops? I've always wanted to go to NY, what did you get up to over there?

Thankyou! I went on a cruise earlier this year and this was one of the islands we stopped at. I think it was called Mystery Island just off the coast of Fiji :) We stopped at a nicer place than this though! Isle of Pines. Absolutely gorgeous.

In regards to your questions, I did not edit my show reel, a member of The Mix did, which was a pilot music show we were putting together. I essentially created it to apply for a presenter job. Currently, I hold down a few causal jobs, 2x crewing companies, merchandise for bands/festivals etc and work in hospitality.... Yes, I know it’s is a lot, but I have an interview for a new position which looks promising. I am also organising an event and which has recently been short-listed through the Smirnoff Promoters Grant. I enjoy working and being busy, though through my years I am still looking for my break!

Yeah man gen Next was good fun, the venue, good excuse to pull my thumb out over working out a proper set. That hall was intense n free soft drink never does astray lol. They want us to do the next one too which is pretty sweet

AA to me has created this oozing cool attitude and people who wear AA seems to pull all the right moves. When realistically, they sell the same plain shit as K-mart at inflated prices. Its worked so well. I am a self confessed fan! But te clothes to fit better and last longer than K-mart clothes...

As for coolest label, I stand by that. They've been consistenyl good for an entire decade and considering the majority of their most successful artists are Australian, I would say that is a huge feat

I know what you mean but I'm really critical if I'm going to put money in their hat. It has to be good, not just anyone playing anything. I once saw a woman selling 'The Big Issue' and singing Michael Jackson songs, I gave her money and it was totally worth it. But some random playing violin along to a CD get no money from me and stern 'you're making a lot of unnecessary noise' look.

Busy P (former manager and close friend of Daft Punk) has announced that they will be touring again. they confirmed it on their website. a 2010-2011 world tour, probably in support of their upcoming album which will be the soundtrack to Tron Infinity. i don't think i could be anymore excited about it. do yourself a favour and be sure not to miss out on it this time.

But anyway that Bon Iver gig was the highlight of my life. I lined up in Martin Place at 1am on two different nights to get those tickets, because I had only bought tickets to the Recital Hall show. i did some work experience in high school at village roadshow. they do music and film so it was a great learning experience!
my friends and i started the save the hopetoun facebook page (you'll see me in the admins) and i run the twitter page.
so many more venues are being threatened though. the supper club have moved away from live music and now the annandale is under threat. such a great loss.
